Leamington Angling News August 2021

Snitterfield Reservoir

Over the years, the cleverly designed platforms at Snitterfield have begun to need some repairs. It probably doesn’t help when the water level goes up and they go swimming! Please remember to move your platform back from the water when you finish fishing. Anyway, Ron has been a busy bee with new wood, hammer & nails and has done a great job in repairing the dodgy ones in order to keep anglers safe.

Ron has also been known to wet a line and here are some samples of his catches showing the great variety and quality of the fish at Snitterfield Reservoir.

River Avon – Stratford

Jason Haden, one of our bailiffs on the Avon at Stratford, sent us a message the other day. Apparently an angler cast out his feeder in front of a large tourist boat and was upset when his line got tangled in the prop. We all share the river so think before you cast when the river is busy.

Stratford Recreation Ground with Angling Trust

Despite boat traffic and clear water, Dave and Elliott had great success with coaching at the Recreation Ground in Stratford. The Angling Trust “Get Fishing” event produced some good sized perch and roach for the enthusiastic youngsters.

Snitterfield Reservoir

Hi Anthony

Me and my mate Paul Haynes have been fishing Snitterfield for carp lately.

We caught some superb commons and mirrors and a couple of Koi to 19 lbs but Paul caught this last Thursday, it weighed 26lbs 5ozs.

Talking to bailiff Ron earlier in the day he told us the biggest carp so far had been a 24 pounder. We would both like to commend the club on the superb condition of the carp at Snitt, College and Jubilee.
