Leamington Angling 2019 Review

Is it me or does Christmas come round much faster than before? It’s been an interesting year so here are a few photos to remind us of 2019, starting with Two Men in a Boat…

River Leam – Victoria Park

Martin Puddifoot and Dave Cook went to the river Leam at Victoria Park and had around 8lbs each of mainly roach with some perch all on pole and red maggot.

Dave said ‘it was a slow start but they came on later in the day’

Anthony,

Please pass this photo onto Thad for me. I was really struggling when he did his round but, as usual, the fish turned up later on (first 2 hours hardly anything, a few in the next 2 hours and then quite a lot during the last hour – as the clock winds down before going home time!). Probably due to the low temperatures and the time it takes them to find the feed.

Fish Care & Photography

Recently, Dave Evans (Development Officer for the Angling Trust) joined the Leamington Angling Committee. He has drawn up a useful advice page to remind us about fish care and how to photograph your catch safely.

Have a look at the page on the Leamington Angling website here…

Best Value Coarse Fishing in the Midlands

There’s no doubt that your Leamington Angling Association fisheries include some of the best angling venues in the Midlands and offer exceptional value for money. How is this achieved? It’s all about the people. The volunteer bailiffs that you meet at your waters who are out on the banks, come rain or shine making sure that anglers are keeping to the rules, paying for their tickets and looking after their catch. The volunteer work parties who give their time, week after week, to repair pegs, clear swims, take out fallen trees and improve access. The volunteer committee and officers who meet regularly to decide on leases, rents, maintenance and improvement projects, stocking policy and new waters.
